We never saw any homeless sleeping in the subways anywhere that we traveled in Manhattan and we did do a lot of travel on the subways.
Though it wasn't winter, the above sign may explain some of it. We were told that New York City has an outreach program to the
homeless to provide them with medical care, food, and housing so that they don't need to seek shelter in the subways.

Taking The Ferry To The Statue Of Liberty
Barbara Cepinko (my wife) On The Ferry To The Statue Of Liberty.
On Liberty Island
The last time I visited the Statue Of Liberty was around 1970. At that time we were able to just take the ferry here and then wait
in line to go up to the crown and look out. Now you have to make a reservation months in advance if you want to go up to the crown
of the Statue Of Liberty. You even have to book in advance if all you want to do is go up to the base at the feet of the
Statue Of Liberty. Since we did not know this and had no advance reservations, we had to be content with taking an audio guided
walk around Liberty Island.

Heading To The High Line
Interesting Art In The NYC Subway.
Above Left: No Idea. Looks Like A Stairway To Nowhere.
Above Right: Crossing Over A NYC Commuter Railyard.
The "High Line" is a 1.45 mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central
Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. We really enjoyed walking most of the length of this structure
elevated above the streets of New York City. We walked among trees, flowers, water features, and artworks while crossing above
the streets of the city.
