Left: I was wondering what the above structures are. They are public restrooms.

The Original Nathan's Famous
My wife was disappointed with how much Nathan's has changed since she used to come here in the 1960's.
Beyond Ketchup, Mustard and Relish, they had none of the toppings that used to be available such as onions.
Nathan's also no longer sells Knishes. However, they do now sell all sorts of thinks besides hot dogs and hamburgers
such as fish & chips, shrimp, philly cheesesteak, and more. After we had a Nathan's hot dog we discovered a small place
right next door that does sell Knishes and also sells hot dogs with all the toppings including onions!

I had rented a car for just the two days we stayed on Long Island, New York. For the rest of the week we'd be staying at a hotel in
the heart of Times Square. There is no way I would be trying to drive around in the crazy traffic of New York City. So, after
dropping off our luggage at the hotel my plan was to head back to the Newark Airport to return the rental car. We would be staying at the
Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central
at 220 W 41st St, New York. When I first set my GPS to go to the hotel, it took me to the wrong Times Square Hampton Inn! I had no
idea there could be more than one Hampton Inn in Times Square. I thought Times Square was just one small area in Manhattan.
I was wrong. Times Square actually encompasses quite a few blocks in an hour glass like pattern. There are 3 Hampton Inns in
Times Square: South, Central and North. Fortunately we were able to retrieve our car from the valet before they charged us the $25
per hour parking fee! When we got to the right Hampton Inn in Central Times Square, the valet allowed us to just park at the curb
while we unloaded our luggage and checked in.

After we dropped off the rental car we took the Newark Airport Airtrain to the Newark Amtrak / NJ Transit Train Station. From there
we took a New Jersey (NJ) Commuter train to Pennsylvania Station in Times Square. That was the first time I've ever been on a
tri-level commuter train where you enter at the middle level and can then either go down steps to a lower level or up steps to a
higher level. The bi- and tri-level commuter trains that I was familiar with in California and Chicago you enter at the lower level
and then can go up to either the middle or the upper level. From Pennsylvania Station we took a New York Subway train to the stop
nearest our hotel which was just a few steps from the hotel.

We went into the famous Junoir's Diner in Times Square right near the School Of Rock musical, for a late night bight.
You can see Cheryl clearly in the above photo, but if you look carefully you can also see the reflection of Barbara (my wife) and
me (Steve Grande) in the mirror behind Cheryl.
