Those of you that arrived at this page from a link from CruiseRookies.com, these are not cruise related reports and photos. However, my wife and I discovered how much we like Edinburgh, Scotland, only because it was a port stop on two of our prior cruises: a 14 Day Norway Cruise on the Norwegian Jade and a 13 Day British Isles Medley Cruise on the Oceania Nautica. So, in that way, I guess you could say these reports and photos are cruise related.
This trip was actually a birthday present to me from my wife. On both of our prior cruise visits to Edinburgh we visited the Scotch Whisky Experience and found that we both liked Scotch Whisky from the island of Islay. We love the smokey and peaty flavor of the Scotch from Islay. Before that tasting, Scotch Whisky was not one of our preferred spirits. Now it is our favorite, at least the Scotch Whisky from Islay. The main purpose of this trip was to go on a 4 Day Islay Whisky Tour. However, what we were not aware of and discovered when we got to Edinburgh was that the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is held for almost the entire month every year in August. We attended a number of the live music events at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the events we attended are documented with photos and reports at the below links.
